Fathima Khan | Communications Intern
Fathima, a senior majoring in english composition concentration in creative nonfiction, is heavily involved in the Muslim-cultural Student Association's (McSA) newsletter Al Bayan, a campus wide publication and has served as the organization’s secretary. She is also the assistant editor of the writing section of North by Northwestern, an online publication by and for Northwestern students. Fathima plans to attend law school next year. She is very interested in ways in which technology can be used by non-profit organizations to enable their publications to make contact with broader audiences.

Haneen Alwawi | Health Clinic Intern
Haneen, a nursing major, has recently obtained her CNA ( Certified Nurse Assistant) certificate. Before coming to IMAN, she completed an internship at Little Company of Mary Hospital. She had the opportunity to work for the non-profit, Zakat Foundation of America. Haneen plans to synthesize her great interests in non-profit organizations and health through her internship at IMAN. Her post graduate plans include obtaining a masters degree in the science of nursing with a concentration on neonatal nursing. Upon completion of her degree, she plans to volunteer for the Palestine Red Crescent Society.

Omar Kamran | Organizing Intern
Omar Kamran, a senior majoring in sociology with a double minor in urban studies and anthropology, was born in Chicago and raised in the suburbs of Chicago in a Pakistani family. Omar has been involved in various social justice organizations on campus and elsewhere. Notably, Omar co-organized the Anti-Racism Movement rally at Loyola in response to cases of racial profiling and to address the affects of racism in higher education. The rally attracted over 400 participants and has been applauded on many campuses. Omar plans to attend graduate school after this year to pursue his Ph.D. in sociology.

Saquib Usman | Career Development Intern
University of Michigan
Saquib Usman is currently a student at the Univiersity of Michigan. He moved to chicago for the fall semester to intern at IMAN. Saquib began organizing in the Muslim community during high school when he served as President of YMFA (Young Muslims for Faith and Action). He was also involved in MMYC (Michigan Muslim Youth Council) and MYNA (Muslim Youth of North America). Saquib studied Islamic theology, law, history and Arabic in Morocco and Yemen. His post graduate plans includes law school. He enjoys reading and traveling.
